THE 456
New York City has a magical way of bringing people together. One November night in the East Village, it introduced an up and coming singer/songwriter Natasha Alexandra (NLX) from Hamilton, Ontario Canada to a prolific veteran of the music industry, David Wolfert (Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand and Dolly Parton). What happened next is where things get interesting. With one on guitar and the other on keys. One having crafted songs for likes of Houston, Streisand and Parton and the other cutting her teeth in clubs, cafes and hotel bars across North America. They came together across 456 miles to collaborate and cowrite some of the most tactile, emotional and powerful music either of them has produced in their combined 50 years in the industry. Natasha’s haunting vocals set the mood for a group of honest, personal and deeply introspective songs that deal with memory, possibilities, loss and empowerment. It is clear in this collection of ‘Simple Songs’, that although from different worlds, their common connecting thread is a love of storytelling through songwriting.
PoLe
It was the 2020 office Secret Santa at the Dream Factory that Natasha & Rick, two dedicated and starving musicians have been working at for 20 years. They searched and searched for the perfect give under $10 that could possibly reflect all that 2020 encompassed. Pooling their cash and a borrowed snowball mic they realized the perfect gift couldn’t be found at Dollarama but rather within their 2020 pummelled souls. Ladies and Gentlemen... North. South. Doesn’t Matter. This is PoLe.
SoundSentiments
SoundSentiments was born out of a desire to offer thoughtful music lovers a sound greeting card alternative. As a Singer-songwriter, I saw first hand how powerful a song can be. What began as a spark of an idea at a venue in NYC’s west village back in 2011, has become a small business that is committed to sharing all the many diverse voices that make the world sound better.
